Abstract
This article presents the key elements of the functioning of the safety management system
in an aviation organization. Enterprises must have safety-related issues in line with international and internal regulations. While striving to achieve an acceptable level of safety, enterprises develop safety indicators, the purpose of which is, among other things, to assess the effectiveness of the safety management system. In order to respond appropriately to an emerging threat, it is necessary to have a mechanism for efficiently assessing risks and their severity, thanks to which the units responsible will be able to develop a plan for necessary actions to weaken or completely eliminate the threat.
